NRT Noodle Shop Ramen Bayashi

I finally went to the famous Ramen Bayashi Noodle Shop. Apparently, it is at a new location, not too far from the old one. The atmosphere is fun and friendly. Lot's of crew members come here for their noodle fix. It was delicious! I had the hot and spicy with pork for ¥1050(the meat added ¥200). The big beer was ¥650.

Out of the train station, go right over the bridge. Take a right at the T onto 'Green' Street (Omotesando) and the restaurant will be on the right down about 100 feet or so. (see the satellite map below)

Hot and Steamy!

You get 5 slices of pork, 3 already have disappeared...

You cannot underestimate the restorative powers of a steaming hot bowl of red chili pepper soup noodle. After the 12 to 13-hour flight from IAH, that will sure lift the fog better than anything Starbucks carries. Plus, the folks there always welcome you when you enter and thank you when you go. Always a pleasure.

If you're at the airport, just take the Keisei line train (350 Yen) to Narita station - 1st stop after leaving Terminal 2 station. Exit the station and walk straight up to the street going perpendicular to the "courtyard" and bus stop in front of the station. Turn right and the Ramen Bayashi (new location since 2008) is on the right about a 3-4 minute walk depending on the traffic light at McDonalds. (If you should happen to arrive at the JR station - different train company - just turn LEFT at the end of their "courtyard".) I was just there 4-8 March (right before the earthquake/tsunami disaster) and wish I could go there all the time! The gyoza are a must. Ginger pork is good, the soups are good (mild/hot chili pepper soup seems to be the "special"). Depending on the time of day you may be in the company of flight crews or locals or a mix. Gyoza, ginger pork or a soup, small Asahi comes to about 1450 Yen.
